A Buyer's Guide To Disposable Aprons
Choosing the right disposable apron is critically important to ensuring the right amount of protection for you or your staff. Whether protecting against light debris or preventing chemical splash injuries, we'll guide you through the different options you can choose from.
Material
Polyethylene is a common choice for disposable aprons. Sometimes nicknamed "poly aprons", they're best for cost effective solutions to light duty protection. Our customers commonly use these in food processing to prevent cross contamination or spills on uniforms. They're typically thin (1-2 mils at most) and will tear easily if snagged if you're running back and forth in tighter spaces. However, with the low cost it's typically negligible and with the bulk packs, they're extremely affordable, hygienic solutions.
Vinyl material also sometimes called PVC aprons vary greater in thickness. We offer 4 mil up to 12 mil. Compared to polyethylene, vinyl has greater resistance to tear, with resistance increasing proportionally to the mil thickness. Vinyl offers great protection against chemical splashes, fats and oils than polyethylene.
