The Defiant Jumbo is purpose-built as an over-the-spectacle (OTS) design, giving workers who wear prescription glasses full ANSI/ISEA Z87.1-2020+ high-impact protection without swapping eyewear on and off. The enlarged polycarbonate lens (157.8 mm diagonal, 66 mm vertical) provides generous coverage around standard prescription frames. Both lens and temple are marked Z87+, confirming high-impact compliance for demanding work environments.
Adjustable, Ratcheting Temples for a Secure Fit
Tilt-type adjustment lets workers dial in optimum visibility, while the ratcheting temples adjust to four settings to lock in a stable fit over any head size. Polycarbonate temples keep the frame lightweight at just 45 grams, reducing fatigue during long shifts. A nylon hinge and stainless steel screw add durability at the pivot points where cheaper glasses tend to fail first.
UV-Filtering Lens Built to CE and UKCA Standards
The polycarbonate lens carries a U6 UV filter rating, blocking .01% max effective far UV and .1% max near UV transmittance to protect eyes during outdoor and shop work. Beyond ANSI Z87.1-2020+ certification, the Defiant Jumbo also meets CE/UKCA EN 166 standards for broader regulatory compliance. The 2.5 curve lens base and 2.2 mm lens thickness balance optical clarity with impact resistance.
